In the Haitian community, there's a saying that girls' lives revolve around the 3 L's: Lekòl (school), Lakay (home), and Legliz (church). This piece depicts a Haitian girl in her school uniform, with barrettes and ribbons in her hair. Through this portrayal, I aim to highlight the significance of education in Haiti while showcasing beauty, grace, and the qualities that shape a well-rounded woman. Haitians believe that education, personal presentation, and values are essential for success, fostering personal growth and strengthening the community.
