From the mountains to the sea, Hait is more than headlines, its beauty in full bloom. I shaped the island as a woman's body because Ayiti is feminine: nurturing, strong, divine. The name Ayiti comes from the Taíno, meaning "land of high mountains." Chéri means beloved, sweetheart, or dear. This is my visual ode to a land kissed by sun, soaked in strength, and overflowing with soul just like me. That same mountain range runs through the Dominican Republic too, reminding us that before names, flags, or borders, this land was one.
We are still rooted in the same sacred soil.
